"Commit to the Lord whatever you do..." --Proverbs 16:3
Last April, my daughter's Crossfire team played in the Northern Lights National Qualifier at the Minneapolis Convention Center against volleyball teams from all over the country.  As I walked through the complex, a disturbing even caught my attention.  As another team played on a different court, a coach was yelling at her players and calling them names.  I could not believe what I was hearing and my heart went out to those girls.

Later that morning, our Crossfire team was playing a critical match to earn a spot in the highest playoff bracket.  In a competitive contest, the teams went back and forth and split the first two games.  Prior to the decisive third game, the Crossfire team stood in the middle of the court and prayed.

A parent from the opposing team asked me what they were doing.  When I told her they were praying, she started fanning her face and said she was going to cry.  Her daughter was playing on a team where the girls were not getting along.  After seeing this display from the Crossfire team, she told me she was very impressed.

At that moment, I realized what was most important.  It's not about the game, the players, the officials, the competition, the parents or the spectators.  Honoring and glorifying God is the most important thing - even in the heat of a competitive volleyball tournament.

I was so proud of this team!  Even though they lost that game, they played their hearts out and were a testimony and witness to others at the event.
